Light Sport Repairman Inspection Rating: Airplane
Course Description
In this course you will learn how to inspect an experimental amateur built or experimental light sport airplane and determine whether it is safe to fly. You will practice hands-on practical skills such as how to borescope an engine, perform a compression check and install safety wire. You will also learn where to look up FAA regulations and information you will need to conduct an inspection.
Successful completion of this 2 day, 16 hour LSA Repairman Inspection Course allows you to apply for an FAA Repairman Inspection Certificate for Experimental Light Sport or Amateur Built aircraft. You do not have to currently own an airplane or be the builder. There is no expiration date on the certificate of course completion.
This 16 hour course is specific to airplanes only. We do not offer weight shift, powered parachute, or gyro/rotor craft courses. Airplanes must be certificated as Experimental Light Sport or Amateur Built.
This course is not valid for airplanes with airworthiness certificates in the following categories: Special Light Sport Aircraft (SLSA) Standard Category Aircraft (i.e. Piper J-3 Cub, Aeronca Champ, Ercoupe, etc.) or any other Experimental category (such as Exhibition, R&D etc)

Course Eligibility Requirements
- Be 18 years old to take this course.
- Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Complete an FAA-accepted training (this course).
